Adapted Water Ski Clinic
The Dreams for Kids Adapted Ski Clinic is hosted at Lance Park in Twin Lakes, WI. This is the show site for the famous Aquanut Water Shows. The Aquanut Waterski team helps at the clinic each year providing; boats, boat drivers and volunteers. The Dreams for Kids Adapted Water Ski Program provides kids of all abilities with the opportunity to water ski, jet ski and enjoy water sports. Opportunities are provided for sit and stand-up skiers.
Sit skis are designed for kids who use a wheelchair or may have weakness in their lower extremities. A wide range of sit skis are available from beginning to experienced skiers. The Freedom Sit Ski provides the novice skier with the opportunity to begin with the ski rope in a starting block with outriggers for added balance. The kier will progress to holding the ski rope in hand at the start. The outriggers make the sit ski almost impossible to tip over. Competition Sit Skis are also available for the experienced skier who is able to start with the ski rope in their hand and are able to go in and out of the wake. Stand up skiers begin skiing from a boom. The boom is a long pole attached to the side of the boat. The boom allows the skier to receive direction from an instructor in the boat. It also provides the skier with a better opportunity for success. As a skier progresses, they will move to the back of the boat and learn deep water skiing, which will allow them to cross the wake. This is the ninth year that Dreams for Kids and the Aquanuts have been organizing the program and together with the help of some great volunteers everyone is assured that they will have success skiing! This year we will be offering the water ski program on the following dates:
